Story: Len and Rin, two young kids living side by side but divided by the metal barbed wire. They communicate by flying paper plane letters to each other, and they’re both happy despite their situation (Len in the concetration camp and Rin suffering from terminal disease) One day, Rin’s father finds her reading the paper plane letter, and he becomes enraged when he finds out it’s from a Jewish boy. He tells her to never see him again, and Rin becomes confused. A few days after that, she discovers her symptoms are getting worse, and she can hardly walk anymore. Because she doesn’t want Len to worry about her, she changes her clothes again into civilian clothes and goes out to meet him one last time. She sends him a letter that says she is moving away, so he’ll never see her again. Len tells her he’s going to wait until she comes back, asking “if I don’t lose this letter and keep it with me safely…tell me we’d meet again someday. ” Because she doesn’t want to show her tears, Rin runs away. Later that day, Rin gets worse, and the father finds out it’s because she has been crying over Len. He goes to the concentration camp in his uniform and tears Rin’s letters from Len. Seeing this, Len is furious because he promised Rin …
