@igystrvigy Doesn’t matter what the Amalakites did. Their babies can’t deserve wholesale slaughter. Also, does it strike you as odd that entire peoples are totally evil? Either that’s an amazing historical anomaly, or the people who slaughtered them just made that part up to justify their barbaric acts.

@hymnofashes PS Nobody is claiming God’s destruction of various Caananite nations is not genocide. I believe that is the very definition there of. However, the issue is this sense of objective morality you espouse. God destroyed these people because they were desperately evil and vile. None were innocent and all were guilty thousands of times over. One offense is too much for a perfectly just, sinless being. Someone always needs to pay.
@hymnofashes Also, you did not tell me about the Amalakites. You cited an innocuous passage mentioning their destruction, now go back and find passages describing their practices that lead to their destruction.

Objective morality cannot come from the product of time+chance+matter. Only subjective morality would exist.
The tragedy of Jephthah’s daughter is that her virginity was sacrificed as a figurative burnt offering. Hence the references to her virginity in vv37-40. & if you look @ vv 12-28 you’ll notice J’s obvious grasp of Israel’s past wrongdoings (e.g. child sacrifices) & wouldn’t go so far. The issue was a foolish vow that ended his line (his only child never had any children).

I have written back and forth with this slave to Jesus guy, and he is the most dishonest word torturing, definition twisting slimeball ever. He is so incapable of being honest. I really want to punch him in the face. Not because I am violent, but because it is the only way he won’t be able to twist my point. I really effin hate that guy.
@Swede1066 Actually, it is ok to end sentence with a preposition. That is one of those old pieces of misinformation that refuses to die.
He doesn’t hang up because he needs a shower, he says he needs a shower when the host says, “If I want to willingly give myself to the Lord, Jesus Christ…” which clearly (and understandably) makes Hitchens sick.
He hangs up, simply because he wants to hang up on the poor, brainwashed dolt.

I think Hitchens got rightfully angry at that horrible comparison, and damn did he lay down. This is simply amazing; this is the perfect approach to take toward religion if we are to rid the world of it and its primitiveness…hopefully one day the discrimination against Atheists will end, logic and reason will prevail, and God won’t exist in two ways, in reality and in the minds of man.
