got ‘em.
George Carlin was correct to presume Miller as arrogant. Stewart, alternatively, remains hilarious.
they do have similar styles at times
Miller let’s guests have the floor quite a bit though sometimes
@nubbs Werid, I was just about to say the same.. Its just a word so I am glad he wasnt a prick about it here. I don’t condone making fun of the intellectually challenged, but as Lewis Black said, nobody calls them retards just average people who fail to properly utilize their average brain.
point is..yes he said it..
called a sellout, or a coke problem…or both
miler was on oreilly blasting rahm for saying “retarded”
guess he doesnt think it’s so big a deal when jon says it
For a moment forget about their political slant, look at them as funny men.
I got to give credit for having Stewart on his show but the two of them side by side points out the glaring inadequacies of Miller as a witty entertainer. If he says f*** enough and drops enough obscure references he thinks it’s funny. In contrast, Stewart can actually “out-Miller” Miller and he’s infinitely more funny.
@InKa4484 Sorry to hear that. Yeah, when people start working for Fox News, they lose any credibility in my book… It’s sad to lose such an opponent since their are too many jerks on both sides. It seems like respect and good manners is out of fashion when it comes to politics unfortunately. It’s all about calling names and smearing nowadays…
@perkinsvalentine Oh I see, sorry for the misundetanding! But what do you mean then by wondering whether Europeans “have any other to do but be miserable”? I can’t see how I came across as bitter! On the contrary I thought I was saying somehting positive? As for your latter comment, I fully agree; it sucks when people whine too much. Better to do something about it instead,,,
Dennis Miller is a totally different person now that he’s not on HBO. He’s no longer as rational as i think he mainly does radio shows and fox news commentaries. Rationality just doesn’t appeal to his demographic anymore.
Across the pond – is an old reference to across the Atlantic. I despise Dennis Miller because he just swings wherever the market is good for him. I’m hardly a right winger – and I’m against anyone who whines for either attention or a living.
@perkinsvalentine I’m not sure what you mean by “across the pond”; are you “left-wing” or right-wing? Assuming the latter, then yes, absolutely. I’m a member of the Socialist Party in Sweden and an activist. Sure, I can be bitter and cynical every now and then, but I think that you have to strive for something positive as well.
Therefore I attend pickets, demonstrations, use direct action, support union strikes/blockades etc.
And you?
I’m curious as to whether or not you folks across the “pond” have any other to do but be miserable? Dennis Miller would fit in with you, he’s been bitter ever since he lost a national comic competition to Sindbad. He sees a career opportunity by being clever to a desperate right wing. Smart people see this.
jon stewart is probably one of the only libs commentators that i like and think is a good guy
Non-American as I am, I hadn’t heard of Dennis Miller before. This guy, along with Michael Shermer, are the only Republicans I have found reasonable and intelligent in a discussion. They might disagree with their opponents, but they can see things from other people’s perspective.
(Just as I wish my fellow anarchist and socialist friends here in Europe would be able to…)
So is this the first one of these interviews after Dennis turned evil?
What no, it wasn’t a question.
I know i travel alot.
Even the young people in Iran are atheist and want freedom from the crazy religious.
@johnmalory26 no
Although I agree with the oil comment Im not going to hate america just because its america….by the same token Im not going to blindly love america just because I live here (which is what Conservatives think we all should do)
A wise man once said:
“the two most dangerous ideas mankind clings to are blind faith and blind patriotism.”
I may have gotten the quote wrong but you get the point =P
crusades were fun
:D:D the Americans still does them….they have a different name now…..”war on terrorism” OR “hey..thats my Oil under your sand, now i will kill your children” fuck yanks
pfffffffbulllllshit, Israel is americas made up country and does what US sais,
Most Israelis are atheist anyway
Great news for the people
but isnt that what christians (and nearly every religion) have done in the past?
Someone proposes an idea that perhaps contradicts the teachings of their religion or even is just perceived as such and BOOM witch hunts…BOOM the crusades….BOOM recant or we’ll torture you until you do.
Gallileo wasnt imprisoned the last years of his life because he beat up a nun…it was because he had an idea that contradicted the church.
religion IS extremism period.
