i love how driscoll slips in a gospel message
dis dude in da black shirt is achristian but is wearing a shirt with skull and crossbones on it….cmon son.
@ba4010 I am not generalizing. I’m am simply stating a fact. I am routinely bombarded by Christian nonsense. I’m not saying every Christian does it. Besides this is the forum for such discussion. If you don’t want your beliefs challenged I suggest you go hide in a church not on a YouTube video where the subject is whether or not the Devil is real. If you wish to end our discussion you can simply stop replying. Very respectfully have a nice day. (I hope that doesn’t sound sarcastic.)
@kausidya so why is it that when a single christian who thinks logically asks to let i be, u refuse to do so…if u read whatever ive said, its all been in context and nothing crazy, never bashed you, never forced anything upon you, why do u generalize…generaliztion is nothing but a mere interpretion of what you observe from a few people and is put on a broader spectrum, that includes these people, but are not only made of them
@ba4010 They are saying it is the divine word of god and that people that don’t believe it and worship the way they do will be punished for eternity. It doesn’t take very long looking at the bible to see some glaring inconsistencies. Not to mention how the book was assembled in the first place. I don’t know how they came up with thinking the bible was the divine word of god. I’d rather read Aesop’s fables.
@ba4010 Sorry, it doesn’t work that way. Christians don’t “let it be”. So, neither do I. You can’t bombard people with your religion and then when someone mentions that it’s a bunch of crazy nonsense, say let me believe what I want. I assure you I would not care what someone believed if their beliefs weren’t routinely imposed on me. Society needs to wake up and let go of ancient superstitions. Besides Christians are saying they are just stories.
@kausidya but we do not know the pre-historic, so one cannot adamantly say something did not occur, even if it sounds illogical…in the past, men fought to the death…very weird and unrealistic, but it did happen…u get my drift, dont mock others beiliefs for it is only a belief, it is not necessarily true, but everyone know most stories are built upon truth…let people believe and leave it be
@kausidya regardless if it makes sense or not, that is not the issue. Okay let us consider it is false, what difference does it make…ohh btw…even science agrees with the bible…im a bio student so trust me, I know science, its my life, when u compare Darwins evolution and the creation story, its very similar, one day u should look at the two at the same time, if you have not already…and its is known that 99% if animals are extinct. Somethings in the bible may be true, some may be stories
@musevash It’s Moral to drown people? You should be locked up if you genuinely believe that. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are lieing. You are aware according to the ludicrous story, he drowned the whole damn planet. including all the little babies and bunny rabbits. What a great guy that Yaweh is.
@kausidya Moral – Yes. Realistic, no, but realistic doesn’t matter to God because he performs miracles. Which kinda makes it realistic from that standpoint.
@ba4010 You are trying way too hard to twist this BS into making sense. Believe whatever you desperately need to, don’t try to pretend in makes any rational sense though. Oh yeah since you brought up Noah I suppose you think that story makes any realistic sense as well? God killed every living think on earth but the creatures and people on that boat. Moral? I don’t think so. Realistic? Not really.
@kausidya Its not nit-picking its called covenants….abraham made a covenant with God, so did Moses and Noah…with these new covenants, or a formal word for negiotations between God and Man, the old are canceled out right….if you have a contract with someone, only the last contract is relevent..Jesus was the last covenant….the mediator between heaven and earth..its not choosing, in fact its acknowledging
@kausidya i think you got it all twisted ma dude or girl w/e u are..your assumptions are only assumptions, dont be misleaded and think what you think is what I think…all that mambo jambo ur talkin about it may be for purity..im pretty sure u want to be the first one to have sex with ur wife….any man would..but i personally do not agree with a lot of the stuff in the bible as many of the stuff was written to fit those days. dont care about gays, let them do their thing, thing called free will
@ba4010 I always find that pathetic excuse amusing. I don’t have to obey that silly commandment because I’m a christian, What’s so funny is the ones you guys choose to ignore and the ones that you chose to keep and enforce. Certainly you still think homosexuality is an abomination. But, the virgin on wedding night well Jesus fixed that. Oh and now we don’t have to marry off rape victims to their attackers. I’m not going to bother picking appart the bible anymore it’s already been done.
@kausidya clearlu i have read the bible for knowing those facts in fact 2 times over for my age that is good…i personally do not recall that…untill you tell me the verse that says that, I will believe that it doesnt…if you can show it to me, then i will, but I am not a jew so it does not pretain to me, the whole sabbath thing because that was part of the old testament, when jesus christ died a new chapter and new “route” to God was created..like a said…its a societal thing
@ba4010 You should read the bible. It makes it quit obvious what happens to you if you pick up sticks on the sabbath. You get stoned to death. Sunday or Saturday take your pick. I believe the incident occurs in Exodus I could be wrong I’d have to look it up and I’m lazy. But I have read it in the bible.
@kausidya in America blacks were hung b/c they had sex or even looked at a white women…they blame it on religion amongst other stuff…is it right absolutely not but was it done, obviously….so because these ppl did things in the name of religionbut itsdoes not make it part of the religion, rather the individuals skewed interpretation that was manipulated to get their beliefs across “rationally”
@kausidya the bible doesnt say sunday…its the seventh day..which actually happens to be saturday..,both jews and muslism acknowledge this…even u do..or did…go back to elementary school, u sang….sunday, monday, tues…even the calendar starts on sundays. and it says rest, but it doesnt say its gonna kill you…no u dont have to stone b/c God is forgiving ur relating wht happened in the past to religions my friend..its not religion is societal beliefs
Deepak Chopra is essentially right and the vast overhwelming themes and patterns seen in near death accounts support that. He has spiritually matured to the point that he sees beyond the literally taken mythology and commentary of unknown writers from ancient scripture.Seems God is unversal after all and not some highly flawed Cannanite God from the bronze age
when u talks about sundays, people workin on sunday, u forgot one think, the world is not flat as ancient people used to know, its spherical, not every part of the world is on sunday, u might be on suday, but i am already in monday,i will escape ur massacre lol, i am talking to u NoGuff@kausiya. i support chora, a free thinker
Deepak Chopra as “free thinker”… I would say “unhinged thinker”.
@kausidya
” that’s what it says in the bible. Not to mention all the people working on sunday. That is alot of people I’m going to have to kill”
–Hmmm… And you know of millions of other people doing those things and you’re wondering if you should do them also? You know, I don’t know of many incidents like those. Must be the neighborhood I live in.
@Phenlandia
“where’s the fucking HISTORIAN on this panel? You know, the guy who isn’t just riding feelings and hunches, but actually has some FACTS”
–So religion is now history? Which historian has the facts that prove God’s existence? The stories in the Bible are a historical record, but Faith is not science. An historian in this forum can only add cultural context.
It’s a stupid-assed question. The answer is in the Bible. And anyone who is a Christian, Jew, or Muslim believes Satan exists. The simpler question is “do you believe in God?” Because if you do, then you also believe in Satan.
Again, this is a stupid-assed questioni. The people running Nightlint and the ABC programmers are all laughing because they got all these people together to “discuss the existence of Satan” just for ratings. It’s a bullshit endeavor.
I can’t get over what a joke corporate news is. I mean, anybody who knows anything about the history and evolution of Western religion can answer this question in under five minutes. The very concept of a single personification of evil was a ludicrously political last-minute addition to medieval Christianity. Chopra makes good points, but where’s the fucking HISTORIAN on this panel? You know, the guy who isn’t just riding feelings and hunches, but actually has some FACTS.
