Sophisticated theologians are usually *much* smarter, better informed and better educated in comparative religion, history and philosophy than their flock and they don’t need knowledge in biology and evolution to know that there are fundamental flaws in the bible. The question is why they continue to endorse and propagate delusional beliefs to that flock and discourage the seeking of knowledge outside a belief system incompatible with reality.
The very last words Dawkins says as this cuts out are;

I see Dawkins in some ways as a stereotypical Brit: he loves traditions and finds it hard to part with any of the Christian ones – afraid of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I also find him somewhat of snob. (I also find him brilliant, and can’t watch enough of these talks!)

All of those cases are positive beliefs that something is not true. The lack of belief that something IS true is not the same as saying that it is not true, hence the distinction between positive non-belief and simple lack of belief. Hope that clarifies what I mean, for indeed the things you listed are just as delusional as the belief in anything unproven and unprovable.
The absence of something cannot, in itself, be anything, delusional or otherwise. That which fills the gap, however, can.
well to be fair, if you beleive that you don’t exist, you’re deluded. if you beleive that observable reality doesn’t exist, you’re deluded. if you beleive that transcendant supernatural things deinately exist and you can list their attributes and tell what they want and what they want you to kill and eat and fuck and all you have to back this up is “i beleive it.” you are deluded :]
