The blasphemy law is a crime. Free speech is much more important than being pc. Free speech represents democracy, the blaspheny law represents theocracy.
Not to worrie! In the UK we also have a blasphemy law. This may have ment somthing once apon a time when law enforcment methods were a bit more brutal, but these days it’s just a redundant peice of writing in old law books.
Seriousley, how do the Ireish expect to enforce this law?
They may make an effot at first but they’ll soon relize, it’s not that easy to restrict peoples freedoms with a ticket and a fine.
I bet this law will either fade away or be repeiled within a year.

Holy shit, pun intended, I can’t believe Ireland actually passed this law. When I heard Pat Condell talking about blasphemy laws being passed in Europe I thought he was being paranoid.

Your statement assumes god is only peaceful and loving. The Judeo-Christian god, however, has many violent and destructive moods. Also, tearing each other apart is very Jesus-like:

Why must we continue to judge and tear each other apart? The christians who are full of hate are just as in the wrong as the non-christians doing the same thing. I don’t understand how a Christian who claims to believe in an all loving and all powerful God can be so hateful to others, if God is real that’s a crappy way to show it… so as much as I believe that He exists, I think the religious community does a terrible job of showing what they claim to believe he is.
I glad Ireland passed this, because its to friggin rediculous to last for long ..
And when people realize how crazy it is, they will find new strength to ditch this insanity.
