@josecjj I’ve heard some horrible, horrible stories from Auschwitz visitors…. I wanna go there and see the horror…. but then again…. I’m afraid, ’cause maybe I won’t be the same ever again…. maybe I’ll change… Oh, well, we all have to change at some point or another. That’s what people do, right? I’m sure you changed after the Auschwitz visit, …. right?
when he is in the pub at the beginning making friends with the nazi officers. id like to know the music from that part of the movie but i just cant find it. do you know what it was?
The Nazi occupation days were a testing time for people and sadly many either joined in or stood by and did nothing as their neighbours and friends were taken away. But many also stood up and fought against the fasicst, racist evil policies and sacrificed to protect what they believed was fundamentally right. Schindler’s list is an ode to a sad part of history in which millions were slaughtered systematically for no other reason than the fact that they were considered “undesirable”. Never again.
@swerveonthebeat I absolutely agree on that. That’s just ridiculous and if I had to live through that and someone told me that my experiences were all fake….well I would want to shoot them…
This is the World, a cruel World. If you want the world to change, dont depend on the leaders or dont wait for other people to change before ya, the change should start from you first. Even though you cannot be the light, you can be just the spark, with everyone united…we can be brighter than the light
I also met a survivor of the holocaust. I work for an electric utility, and I was on a call at an elderly womans home. She asked me what kind of a day I was having. Sadly I told her not such a good one. She rolled up her sleeve and showed me the numbers tattooed on her arm. Everyday is a good day she said. I was truly humbled. I will never forget her.
I wish everyone would shut up about their denial of the holocaust, it happened, its in every history text book out their, there are plenty of survivors to tell the truth. People deny things so they get all this attention, but its cold hearted and hurtful.
Yeah, I know. Ask a war vet and see the look of pain they give. Those people that lived during that time all over the world are the finest generation alive today. Our wars don’t even come close to what they endured.
When Eisenhower and General Patton liberated their first concentration camp they both threw up at the sight of it. Those two hardened people could not even handle seeing it. Patton later reported that one simply cannot even imagine such evil until they see it with their own eyes. He said no one will ever appreciate the horror and brutality the same way as those who were actually there and seen it with their own eyes.
really? because there’s a comment below saying that she got killed when the germans were pulling out. I really don’t know one way or the other. Weird, huh? In like 10 years nobody who was alive during this time might be alive, and we’ll just forget about it.
The world is trying to forget this event. It’s horrible, because we can’t forget those who have died during those times. Also, we have to know of this event so that history won’t ever repeat itself.
She’s actually based on someone who survived the holocaust. Roma Ligocka, I believe. I think she’s still alive today. She was known to wear a red coat, like the one in the movie. She even wrote a book based on the movie, describing the trials she had to go through in the camps.
I know. Visiting that place must be horrible. All of the death and misery in that place….even now, I shed tears for those who have died in that horrible war.

If people say that Titanic is tragic, have never seen Schindler’s List

Vraiment une belle chanson. Merci beaucoup!
John Williams really deserves the acadamy award for this soundtrack

I met a holocaust survivor and it was a powerful experience. Anyone who is a holocaust denier is truly inhuman.

It also shows that no matter what, anyone, even a supposed enemy can care for you and protect you with all of their might.
