Why has politics become so vindictive and people are so mean to each other?

After the midterm I have noticed people slinging insults to the losing party and then opposite. Politics seems so viral like a disease. Why can’t people be mature and concede in an honorable fashion? Why has politics become so much of a mud slinging ad hominem activity? Provide your insight to this. Thank you.

How can a 16 year old get more active in politics, and become informative on candidates for 2012?

I’m 16 and love politics. How can I get more involved as a minor, and find and research Factual information on candidates for the 2012 race? I want to be informed so that I can be able to debate and have facts and info to say. I’m also more right winged if that helps. Thanks!!

How can I become good at politics when I know nothing about them?

I don’t know why, but I really want to get into politics. However, I know nothing about them. I think it’d be pretty intersting. Is there a website or something I can visit?

How do I become involved with politics?

Hi, I am extremely interested in possibly becoming a politician. I am attending college in the fall to pursue Political Science. However, it seems that many politicians have studied law and business? I’m not sure if that’s a deciding factor or not. However, I want to start in politics. Any suggestion on how to become [...]

However, I want to start in politics. Any suggestion on how to become and activist and get involved with a political party? Also, are internships with senators and state representatives possible? If so, how.

Thank you :)

How can I become more involved in politics while in high school?

Now that the election is over, I don’t see a lot of things I can do to become more involved in politics outside of high school clubs. I wanted to volunteer to a campaign, but now I don’t know what to do. I’m EXTREMEEELY interested in politics, but I don’t know how to make this [...]

Why do so many people become instantly hostile and defensive when discussing politics?

I am a liberal democrat and my boyfriend is a conservative Republican. We haven’t killed each other (yet). I happen to think that open, friendly debate between differing political parties can be a healthy, productive thing. Unfortunately most people I talk politics with get really testy if I don’t immediately agree with their views. Maybe [...]

Maybe the old saying about the impossibility of changing a person’s view on religion or politics is true. What do you think? Thanks for your time and input.

How do I become more involved in everyday politics?

I want to become more involved in politics and general civil rights (workers, benefits, and helping the community). Where should I start? I’m 23 and want to hold some sort of public office position one day.

How do I become more knowledgable about politics?

Earlier on here someone asked a question about the political views of teenagers, and I was reading through the answers and people were saying about political parties and health care and liberal and conservative and all…and I realized I’d never really bothered to educate myself about political issues. It makes me feel stupid. Even when [...]

It makes me feel stupid. Even when I watch the news, it’s all Greek to me.
So how can I learn more about politics so I can form my own educated opinions about stuff?
