To explain two wrongs don’t make a right, and if both are wrong then wouldn’t it make more sense to acknowledge these failures, rather than point to another event that attacks the opposition. If people did this in serious debates, they’d be thrown out. So if politics is meant to be serious, shouldn’t it be that certain guidelines should be followed, in that person has to debate points rather than point to the person’s own ideological faults or mistakes their party did.
It’s idealistic I admit, but even if political debates became like this again it be a start.
